ARCHIE JOINS THE RAT PACK!!!!!!!!!!

Well,I must say I am extremely proud of my brother today. We went to another Earth Dog Event only this time it was the actual trial( not the practice and games I did last week) and PL 1 + 2 decided to take both of us. We weren't sure how Arch would do with all those dogs and we didn't think he would go in the little tunnel, and he didn't get to practice like I did, but what the heck!!!!!!! They have a section called Intro to Quarry( which is the baby beginner event and you don't win a ribbon or anything but if you pass you could go to the next level,Junior Earthdog. All we really want to do is have fun !!!!)So there we were waiting our turn( we were the last 2 to do Intro) I was as cool as a cucumber.......

Archie was a little nervous. I was trying to explain it to him but he was worried about getting stuck in the tunnel. And being a city dog he really wasn't into getting face to face with a rat(even in a little cage)

The dog in front of him came back( a charming little smooth fox terrier with a great sense of humor....)

And then it was Archie's turn......

You aren't allowed to go up to the area and PL 2 and I were waiting under a little tent waiting for our turn but you can see PL1 and Archie coming back. HE DID IT!!!! He went right into the little tunnel and the Judge said that she was very surprised he did that his first time as he didn't even know what was in there, but smelled it!!( He does have a very good nose, especially when bags of food are being opened up)He dug underneath where the rats where( not quite the right place) and the Judge said he was digging to the other side of the world. He didn't bark or go super crazy so he didn't pass Into to Quarry but all he needs is practice. He dug so hard I had to wait while they repaired the tunnel!!Then it was my turn and I was like a stealth missile, quietly going through the tunnel. The Judge thought I wasn't even in the tunnel, but I was at the end right where THEY were. I have been planning this for a week and decided on a sneak attack. Then I got to the end and BLAM.....started digging digging digging.........and I passed Intro to Quarry!!!!!( but the Judge did comment by the skin of my teeth as it is timed) She is just not used to this new stealth bomber way of doing it.

We have been sleeping for HOURS...Arch in his new bed and I in my bomb shelter(note the clever placement of one of Archie's favorite toys under the carpet..He wil NEVER find it) We are dreaming of digging and digging... Good night to all our lovely friends.....

That's like the coolest thing I've ever seen. You're allowed to dig?? No nasty shake cans and stern Mommy voices?? I love to dig, Agatha and Archie! Scruff's good at it too, but even though I might break a nail, I enjoy it more!! We love your bomb shelter; and what a smart place to hide sibling toys! Thanks for visiting our blog!! Lacie

WHOA!

You guys are so in touch with the call of the wild! GO Aggie, GO Archie!!! Completely cool...

I would love to see video, but understand that since it's a trial situation they won't let you film. Our loss.

Sleep the sleep of the hunter!

Goob love,

Hoo-wee - you go, kids! I'd give my canines to be able to join you, because I LOVE to hunt rats myself. Congrats on a job well done!

WOW!!! That is wonderful!! You two are the greatest!
That looks like so much fun, especially the digging part. I wish I could do that. You both deserve a good rest after working so hard.

And Agatha, you still have your bomb shelter? That's great. I thought somebody would have moved in on you by now. Everybody wantst a bomb shelter. You are doing a good job of protecting it.

Lots of Koobuss Kisses to Both of You,
Koobie

Isn't it a great feeling, fresh soil beneath your feet, the dirt in your beard? There's nothing better!
