If a tree falls in the forest......

So Archie and PL1 were doing some male bonding stuff( don't you think his feet look like clown shoes? ha ) and PL2 and I said LETS GO IT IS A BEAUTIFUL DAY . PL2 met a lady in the pet store who told her about a place
that we HAD to go to............

Estabrook Woods in Concord Massachusetts......Now we have taken you on an A+A tour of historic Concord so now we are going to show you another part of Concord...These woods have a connection to Thoreau but PL2 has to look that up......

We had to park the car on this beautiful road.........

Look at this old barn........

CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS!!!!!!! LOOK AT THE TOP SIGN!! OH BOY WE ARE GOING TO LOVE THIS PLACE(we are not quite sure what exactly a donkey is but we are hoping we run up with one...)

We passed these kids having lunch......

Past this pretty stone fence.....

AND THEN BLAM we were in the woods!!!!!!!!!!! HEAVEN THAT IS FOR SURE!!!!!!!

I of course immediately went into hunting mode....THIS PLACE WAS PACKED WITH STUFF........

Even Archie got into it a little......

Leave it to my brother...he found this tree with these cool mushrooms on it....He wanted to pick them and make them for supper but we told him he would be the only one eating them.....

We crossed a little brook.....

This picture is for Eric..He thinks that I don't seem to get dirty when I go walking......

And we went up a hill and Archie said LOOK AT THIS!!!!!!!

It was a lovely pond full of lily pads.......

Now here is the question....if a tree falls and there is no one there....... (Archie said he thought that it was stupid...)

LOOK AT ME ON TOP OF THIS BOULDER!!! I look a little green.....

FABULOUS SMELLS.......

The other side of the lily pad pond......

Some beautiful ferns......

My brother is ecstatic........

He said this would make this place his.......

He is telling me a little joke( you know him...)

Oh we loved this place.......And there are 840 acres of it.We don't think we did that many and we read there are apple orchards and places to swim( IN THE WOODS) and all kinds of stuff......And guess what? You know how our Arboretum is owned by Harvard? So is this place!!!!!!

So here we are going back to the car.....

This rock fence is very interesting.....

Man would this be a great place to play!!!( it is part of someones YARD)

Then we came home and had a bath( not really what we would have planned but......) and now we are EXHAUSTED!!!! And so, A+A give this place two paws up.....

What a great story-Parental Unit is drooling over that place and so am I! Thanks so nuch for those pictures!
Interesting that Harvard owns that property... (not to me, but to Parental Unit :-) ).

And those stone walls are gorgeous-will they tumble down if you try to play on them...?

What a GREAT walkie....loved the terrier crossing sign, must remind HER to order one for my street!

Thanks so much for your kind words of comfort on our bloggie. I am missing ole stink breath more than I thought I would. Been off my dinner since he shuffled off his mortal coil, just not the same without a little competition, KWIM? The kind words of our friends are helping to ease the ache in our hearts.

Oh Wow! That is one cool looking place. I bet the smells are to die for.
(Our mom has been really a bad secretary, but she is trying to be better. So she says!)
Mom remembers from when she was a pup herself and her Dad was stationed at Hanscom AFB, the house they lived in in Bedford had a pasture behind it and they had lots of those stone walls. She also remembers picking blueberries growing wild.
And lady slippers(flowers) in the woods. Bet this place is just too cool to investigate!
Hugs

Leave it to Archie to be able to go to Harvard and pick mushrooms all in the same day...so we didn't know your Arboretum was owned by Harvard too...there's an Arboretum in Ann Arbor where Mumsie used to live that's lots of woods and ponds and stuff that's owned by the University of Michigan...one of her favorite places...

Oh Aggie...I loved those new shoes you picked up on that walk in that lovely shade of um well MUD...I saw they are that new high ankle style too...I hope you took em off before your bath...

Yes, definitely a two-paws-up kind of place! Did you find any vermin? Looks like a verminy type of hunting ground around that stone wall. And Agatha, you did look a little green up there so high in the air. Terriers don't fly well, you know, but we do bounce.

Happy Tails,
William Tell
