IN TRAINING

Well, per usual we are way behind in our reading and will catch up with all of your gossip as soon as possible. We have a pressing issue here at house of A+A. PL2 reminded me of something. August 8th is a very big day. Why you ask??? EARTHDOG!! YIPPEE!!!!! Now my next level would be senior earthdog. That is like going to Harvard for your Masters(your PhD would be Master Earthdog..PL2 says I will never make the Masters because you have to go into the tunnels PAIRED up with another dog..and that will NEVER happen...unless it was Archie but I don't think your coach is eligible)Now Senior Earthdog is the same length tunnel but there are some tricks to it, and I have never practiced in that kind....so.... PL2 said maybe I should just do my J.E. tunnel(which as you all know is quite challenging enough.)That's great PL I am WICKED excited!!!
UNTIL I realized it was in A WEEK and I have not been practicing AT ALL. and we have uhhhmmm been eating ice cream and stuff....so Archie said Lets go.........we have to cram in 2 months of practice into a week(but the pressure is off because I am no working for my E...just doing it for fun..Next year I will try for my S but that will be another story all together.....

So off we went to our training grounds......

So Archie started out by checking out all available digging sites....

I tried to help but he was screaming something like I AM THE COACH HERE AGATHA.......
OK here I go at my first dig.....concentrating... thinking of my little friend at the other end......

Next stop? The next site my coach thinks is a good training place.......

OK stop digging for one minute coach said...run around this section doing crazy zoomies

Next in my training triathlon, the swimming event....I as your coach will monitor from above.......( he hates to get his feet wet really..)

Here he HAD to come into the water because he said I wasn't doing it right. I don't know what he is talking about really because I was taking a break a playing this little game I made up which is pat the water with you paws and watch the water come spurting up....

OK he said ENOUGH OF THIS BACK TO THE DIGGING..I will show you how it is done......

And this, he said, is how you should look....

Ha... check out my black tongue.....

Wait is that a coyote I hear????

Well I can assure you I WAS POOPED but I think I am in shape( but no ice cream for me until after the event...) Here I am practicing next years winning speech after I get my S and my E( for Senior Earthdog) PL2 said she is not really sure but thinks to get your SE you have to go through the tunnel about 4500 times or something like that.... so we'll see.....)

You are an inspiration! I watch in awe! To think this is all in the wft genes.

I think you'll be proud... at least I know, now, that the lizards around here are fun to watch and chase. (I'm such a softie.)

Your sweet pal,
Jake (and Fergi)

Of course you will be able to get your senior hunter title Aggie. Abstaining from ice cream will make you a lean, mean, rat chasing, terrier machine! Good luck with you training.

Your friend,
Niamh

You are lucky to have such great training facilities close by! I can see how Archie is the coach of the year, he is a slave driver! BUT I think you probably like it. Good luck on the 8th!

We can see how very hard you are training but what do you mean no more ice cream until afterwards? You need ice cream to keep up your strength, Agatha!

Love ya lots,

You are very serious about your workouts, no doubt about it.

I would be your partner if you like. Although I would prefer it if they put a hot mastiff gal in the tunnel for me to chase.

Archie is really serious about your training. You're lucky that he's so dedicated to the cause. Keep training hard and I'm sure you'll do great at the trials and maybe get some ice cream for all the effort.

Hmm...

OK..so you get ur nails dirty...go and wash them off and then get them really FILTHY????

I dunno, Aggie...I love this whole Earthdoggie thing, but it's heck on the whole self maintenance program....ruins the pedicures, ha??

Plus, everytime I get in that diggie position I have to endure negative comments on my butt size...

Scuffy loves the whole Pat the Paws in the Water Game...he could do it for hours...I only do it in our water bowl...makes such a mess!

Whoopsie...had to interupt myself here so the boyz and me could go and chase a deer in our yardie...of course Stan stepped on me flyin' outta the door...sheesch...

Bark bark bark...

Kisses to Archie!

Hi A and A
I remember those digging moves quite well. Fast quick fastidious! That's right.. no rat can get away now. Nice coaching archie. But Agatha, if I were training you, you know hot dogs would be involved. Nice time call me.
