It is snowing again...and with snow comes....THE DREADED SNOW PLOW!!!!!However this morning PL2 went with ROAST BEEF!!!! JACKPOT SUPREME!!! And a plow came, and Arch put his ears a little back and then looked at Pl2 FOR HIS ROAST BEEF!! WOO HOO! Now I am not crazy..do you think I am going to miss out on a little roast beef??So I put my ears back too..and got some..THIS RULES!!!!!!! We hope it snows for a long long time......we are a little stir crazy( hard to believe I know) We think we are making PL1+2 stir crazy as well(we know, hard to believe that too)So we would like to tell you about our visit to the Nutritionist.........so we don't have to think about the cold......
After her last dog( the infamous Reggie the welsh terrier) who had lots of health troubles) and then with all the dog food troubles PL1+2 decided that they were going to feed their next pups( that would be us) real food!! WOO HOO!! We won out!!!! WE LOVE TO EAT!!!!!!! All of a sudden PL2 had an epiphany.....Was she giving us the right nutrients??Were we missing out of something? So she decided we should go to a nutritionist.......
So the first thing she did was put us on the scale...Now not for anything but we are 3 1/2 years old...SHOULDN'T"T SHE THOUGHT OF THIS A LITTLE SOONER????????ARE WE ALL GOOFED UP BECAUSE OF THIS??IS THIS WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH MY BROTHER??? So Archie hopped right on like the little goodie two shoes that he is......21 pounds she said....Gulp then it was my turn..I put up a valiant fight...kicked sat down...but the stupid nutritionist won out.........
23 pounds....I WAS MORTIFIED..and she said it OUT LOUD...oh geesh......Hmmmmmm she also said.........
SO then the 4 of us went into her office and she reviewed what PL2 makes for us(for the last 3 1/2 years) PL2 AFTER 3 1/2 years wanted to see a nutritionist to make sure she was doing it alright..EXCUSE ME.....maybe she should have gone like say after 1/2 year.......MAYBE THIS IS WHY WE HAVE ISSUES!!!!!!
Archie was going to tell her what we really like to eat..............
And I threw in that we love.........TO LIGHTEN HER UP A LITTLE........
So after she read it,PL2 said well??and the Nutritionist said "Well it could be worse... OH THAT IS JUST GREAT..............So she calculated all kinds of stuff and reviewed all kinds of things( including Archies itchys ) and looked at the supplements we were on and came up with a plan.. and on the top of the plan it says ALLERGY AND DIET PLAN...and the diet means as in weight watchers and it is for me...MORTIFIED MORTIFIED......It really isn't too different from PL2 was making but the supplements are different..and she put us on a allergy diet because we are allergic to chicken and meat...CHICKEN AND MEAT!!!!! WHAT ELSE IS THERE!!!!!!! SO they got the official diet in the mail a day or two later...We are having a few small issues with it.....
These are the meats we can have..turkey (miam miam as Faya would say...)
AND QUAIL......
PHEASANT.............
OSTRICH.........
Now PL1+2 have been thinking really really hard, and they just can not remember when they last saw an ostrich locally........... but I digress...we can also have..........
Now PL1+2 have been thinking really really hard, and they just can not remember when they last saw an ostrich locally........... but I digress...we can also have..........
ELK.......
BISON.........
Now PL2 has been thinking very very hard and just can't remember when she last saw any of this stuff in the supermarket,so she emailed the nutritionist to ask her where she might find this.. and PL1 said that he doesn't know if he is going to be able to give us this in the wee morning on an empty stomach( remember all you country folk WE ARE CITY PEOPLE) so PL2 went to our favorite store the PET CABARET and the girls had cans of pheasnt, and some of the other stuff....and then PL2 found some bison meat in the supermarket and she thought it looked like hamberg..until she cooked it.... Archie kept asking her why she had her turtleneck up over her nose..... so she is going to slowly introduce all this stuff to us.... Archie's itchys are much better.... and Pl2 said she knows roast beef is not currently oh the list but it was all she had, and why can't she have dogs that eat chicken, beef and lamb like other dogs, and we said that we don't care what we eat because we love everything and that is the story of our nutritionist.......As for the 23 pounds?Well Archie says I am big boned, and the Nutritionist said that 21 pounds is a good weight for both of us....( Mr Goody 2 shoes) When the nice weather comes I will be in training again so the pounds will shed right off( at least that is what PL2 says about herself all the time...)

A diet, in fact, a gourmet wildlife diet. geesch. Besides, my head weighs more than 23 lbs.! do they remember you're just a little guy?
Even so, you keep putting your ears back when you're outside--it'll keep the good stuff coming!
enjoy the snow & roast beef,
tula
G'day A & A

This is a good diet for you. In fact I don't know anything about dogs'food you can find in petshop because Véronique only goes to the butcher (her best friend....it helps)and we only eat fresh fruits and vegetables (BARF to make short...). Véronique heard that Welshie are subject to a lot of alergies but Dyos eats barf since he is has his new teeth and he is fine. Wait and see... But my little friend Taky has a lot of problems. She will come next week-end and her Mom wants to talk with my Véronique about BARF.
Oh and there are no fat dog (or people) but only comfortable ones...
Kisses, Faya
Hi, Agatha and Archie!
Sometimes following a diet is hard because you can't find the things they tell us to eat!
But I am sure you will find them and you will loose those pounds!
Do you have to eat the ostrich with teeth?
Have a nice sunday
Kisses and hugs

Wonderful selection of novel proteins. Goat is an excellent protein for an allergic dog. Big Pupi and I get it all the time and it does wonders. You can order the whole goat carcass ground and just feed it raw (if you're up for that) then you don't have to worry about measuring out organ meats and calcium. They also carry rabbit, pheasant, duck, pork, chicken, beef and turkey. Just don't buy the ground carcass for cooking, as it contains ground bone and we all know that cooked bone is a no-no.
Grains are most often allergy triggers, so keep an eye out for those!
I'm telling you, eating all this real food has allowed our people to pinpoint what triggers our allergies and it put weight on me (I NEEDED that!) and keeps Big Pupi very muscular and lean. We are carnivores and need delicious meat!
Hope you enjoy your new feasting!
Forgot to add these - lists of online retailers and local meat co-ops (co-ops make it all WAY cheaper):

Yahoo! Groups is another great resource for finding & joining local co-ops.
Yay for meat!
hi A&A, you two always have the bestest adventures, even if they are torture. hee hee! your PL2 is very SMART to take you to the nutritionist and your PL2 is also very SMART to give you the right foods. we don't understand at all why we dogs have all of this blasted food allergies - i, Bailey, have problems with chicken too. it sucks, as you know.
anyway, we think your PL2 is TERRIFIC for giving you such a wonderful diet. we think we might be coming to live with you, or at least join you for dinner.
we eat pheasant sometimes, but we have never seen those other beastly foods in our dog store. maybe your PLs will have to move to the wilderness so that they can hunt these beasts to feed you.
CONGRATS on your awards and on the SNOW PLOW. you two are amazing.
woofs!
Roast beast is the best and I am glad that it helped you with your snow plow issues.
Quail and pheasant! Yay! Very delicious and I know you will like them. As a Gordon Setter I would have to point at them before I ate them.
Enjoy your new diet (and I think you look great Agatha).
Your friend,
Niamh
You know what, Mom eats Bison and Elk all the time and she LOVES it. Like woah loves it. Maybe she needs to see a nutritionist?? She said she likes Bison BETTER than hamburger. she is clearly wonky.
How does a pup know if it has a food allergy? Do tell, since I think I may be a hypochondriac and need this important info. I love to have my morning pill of flaxseed oil.Mom says it brightens up my coat. sloppy kisses, BabyRocketDog
Oh Agatha how mean making you go on those nasty scales and then shouting out your weight. It just isn't done like that with us girls.
Molly
Your new menus sound extremely interesting and varied. That Ostrich looks so scary, not sure we would want him in our food cupboard.
Taffy
Oh boy....We love your story. PL1 &2 will have to take up hunting. Well my mom had to find sodium/salt free food for her last dog... she says to try finding this type of food

By the way Archie.. I think you have a feather stuck in your lips.. oh just kidding.
Norwood
We agree you are just big bones. what do humans know about diets?
Pizza should be one everyones diet..
Big Sloppy Kisses
Gus, Louie and Callie
Agatha, Well here is just one more reason why you all have to move here, to Montreal. At the butcher shop where mom gets my turkey necks, they sell all those things. You can get ostrichs and pheasants and quails and bisons and, well, I'm not actually sure about elk, but would red deer do?
You kids are being totally jerked around by vimeo. All my videos are up and available. I don't know what is going on to prevent you from seeing them. Try just going to this link: http://vimeo.com/videos/search:sophie%20brador
Maybe that will solve the problem.

P.S. Ags, mom is always skimping on my food so I can keep my girlish figure. Too bad she doesn't skimp on her own!
We are definitley doing something wrong here - we need to somehow instantly become afraid of the snowplow! We love roast beef!
You guys are in for some very yummy meat treats! We can't wait to see it piled up in your food dishes!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
With such big animals to eat, you need a whole table cloth, not just a placemat.
Alanis
First off, congrats on your awards! Wow, your diet list sounds pretty exotic. We would have a hard time getting it in M'sia for sure! Have fun experimenting.
Congrates on your pawsome award and your diet looks interesting.. hum..

Oh my... the Ostrich pic did give me a scare and I almost fell off my chair.. Hershey ran out of the room with her tail between her legs.. Never knew that Ostrich has teefies!! And BIG ones too...
Hmmm... a diet doesn't sound appetizing at all!!
I believe that it is important to add a few extra pounds during the cold months to keep from becoming a terrier-cicle outside and I am surprised that dumb nutritionist did not know that.
I, Mango, have been BEGGING for more foodables so that I can increase my cold shield of blubber.
Momma wants to know if your mom can send us that nutritionist information. Now that she is on a raw diet, she wants to put us on one two, but master will have NO PART OF IT! So, maybe there is some alternative.
Slobbers,
Mango
P.S. I don't think I would fit on that dumb scale. Hee hee.
Agatha!!! (My DM - Diva Mentor)
That bed in the last photo looks big enough for a few more of us pups to crash with you! I bet you and Archie are very snuggly pups. I can just tell.
Shame on your nurtritionist for revealing your weight to everyone else in the room (not that you have anything to worry about in that department)! All I can say about your new nutritional plan is thank DOG you don't have to hunt down your own ostrich meat! That thing was stinkin' SCARY!
I hope you find all of your new foods to your liking and that the itchies stay AWAY!
Now, get some sleep!
Goobery love & itty bitty kissies,
Stella Bean
Oh, my dogness! Those sound like some very yummy meats, but those Ostrich's teefies are scary! We never knew they had teefs! Our pawrents put us on one of Dick VanPatten's all natural foods. I bet they have one that you could eat! We get ours at PetCo.
Aire-hugs,
Poppy, Penny & Patches
When I had my allergies tested, they said the only meat I can eat is turkey and venison. After my wild turkey scare in the bathroom, I think I'll go deer hunting this week.
Happy Tails,
William Tell
oh this was such a funny post.
!!!!!!
although I don't like the sound of the nootritchinist.
Does she have a noo chin? I have no idea what she must be or look like.
However, if you want pheasant, there are plenty around these Scottish parts, but they may not be too nice by the time I post 'em too you.
Though my Jeannie says, they are game and need to hang for a while.
I just pick 'em off the hedgerows, fresh food is good.
Just ask your noo chin personage!
love and pheasanty licks, Marvin xxxxx
hope all is sorted soon!
btw my weight is 23 kgs, I have no idea what this is in pounds, here in the UK we are now Europpppeeeens.
ostrich are ugly beasts too!
Whoa...that ostrich photo freaked me out a little! I don't think I can look at an ostrich the same way again. o.O"
Your diet sounds cool! Lots of new meat...I wonder if we can find those here too! Hopefully PL1 & 2 will be able to find whatever you need for your new diet!
Scottie
Hello my four legged friends! It is I, Mr. T-Bone Beasley. I appologize for my disappearing act but life has been busy and oh so good lately! I've missed you lots!
I wish my human would take me to the snow...I would kill that plower thing!
I will be back to blogging soon!
Slurp!
Mr. T-Bone Beasley
The nutritionist really recommend ostrich meat? That ostrich doesn't look like he has any meat, only feather and sharp teethy.
Congrats on the Award, lovely A&A.
Muahhhh!
Wow, looks like you're going to develop somewhat fancy taste, eating ostrich and bison and all that. Can you get your PLs to have a word with J1? I fancy me some quail! J x
