A wintery walk in our favorite place

So we thought we would try it again... a walk in our Arboretum but NOT Peters Hill( our walk on the ice) but the other part of our Arboretum..... so we all hopped into the car....








Look you can barely recognize it all covered in snow.....

Check this out... NO ICE!!!!!!!

OK now that I have that all covered I can check out the sites........

OMG you can not believe what I found!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GRASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!( not enough to roach in though..)

Guess what this is?? Lilac Hill!! Remember we told you about Lilac Sunday when all these lilacs are in bloom and it smells FABULOUS!! (Arch was working on smell o vision but I am not sure what happened with that)

Look I think he is looking very handsome here.........

And this is why...There was a cute little poodle in a very stylish coat that he was trying to impress. His owner sort of walked around us as growling at her was not really a good pick up line....

THEN , EVEN THOUGH IT WAS COVERED WITH SNOW WE CAME ACROSS THIS......

Oh yeah, snow or now snow I still got it......... DIG AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now this is the sign of a happy kid.............

OK we are so done with all of this..... this is really all we do.......(note the overcast outside......)

Archie brought up the squirrel for us to play with but we fell asleep before we even played with it......

I fell inbetween two pillows.....

And Archie fell under the blanket.......(ha ha see the piece of carrot right there?)

Then I threw the football man onto the floor so we could play with him.....

All of a sudden it hit him too.........and he had to go to his bomb shelter.......

He even fainted in PL2's lap........

HELLOOOOOOO.........WE ARE READY FOR SPRING!!!!!!

We think PL2 has lost it.........

As you all know a few days ago it was PL2's birthday( thank you Lacie and thank everyone for their kind wishes Pl2 just told me to say) This is what happened....

It snowed

It rained

It all turned into ice and it was a MESS outside

She went out for a Chinese luncheon special

She got a cool gift from PL1 and almost broke it using it the first time

She emailed the Nutritionist because we have been having poop problems,with all these stupid supplements. and the nutritionist emailed her back and said she had too many questions in the email and would have to set up a phone appointment. A PHONE APPOINTMENT???ARE YOU KIDDING ME????????? AND HAVE YOUR CREDIT CARD READY said the secretary She was the one to say that we should call her if this happens.......so PL2 is mad, but not as mad as when she calls to make the appointment and they say she can talk to her NEXT TUESDAY!!!! NEXT TUESDAY????? she shouted into the phone?????she went a little nuts( and we haven't gotten any supplements since then tee hee)

And she went to bed..........and at 2am A SNOW PLOW came to do our driveway.....ARCHIE .... BARK BARK BARK I SAID LET IT ALL OUT...so we did..........and then we stopped.....and PL1+2 started to go to sleep. and someone was crying...uh that would be me....I REALLY HAD TO GO..and she noticed that the reason Archie didn't have to go out was because he pooped EVERYWHERE and we were hearing HBO words that we have never even heard before ( and we have heard a lot from the Doofus and Joey) and she goes to bed.......

NEW DAY.......started out just as boring as yesterday......I ate( notice my baseball pictures?? I am just waiting for Pitchers and Catchers...........

(a sure sign spring is coming)

Archie ate( he has football pictures and wanted to put up Steelers pics but PL1 said he wouldn't let him but he certainly could root for them on Sunday)



We were soooo bored Archie offered to lick the whole floor so PL2 wouldn't have to clean it......

We ate 4000 of these cookies while doing our "training"......who knew you would get treats as good as this?? And such a charming name isn't it??


And PL2 said THAT IS IT we have to get out of here...We are all going stir crazy....lets go puppies and check out our Arboretum!!! We can try the Peters Hill side...YEAH!! We said and flew into the car........Here it is isn't it lovely????



There was great pee mail and we are sooo behind in everything..........

And then we looked up..............now remember, it is called Peters HILLLLLLLLLLL and saw this....

But mostly we saw this............A SOLID SHEET OF ICE EVERYWHERE AND IT IS A HILL

Well I said, lets pretend we are in Alaska...I will be the lookout( uhm PL2 started that HBO word thing again....)

And then he thought he heard something the other way...........

Yes indeed he did alright..... Before I tell you what he heard let me just say that it took us about 25 minutes to get up that baby hill.....and what did Archie hear???????in this secluded lovely area where we were?
Yep a snow plow...it wasn't this big but that doesn't matter IT WAS A PLOW!!!! And PL2 didn't have any turkey or roast beef BECAUSE WHO THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE A SNOW PLOW THERE!!!!!!!!! Well you can imagine what happened next........Arch and I wouldn't even touch the Charlie bears cookies PL2 had and we started to pull maybe just a little as it was right behind us and it had to pass us.........and don't forget it is really icy and the rest of the walk went to H*&^ in a handbasket.....Actualy we were not too too bad adn then we calmed down and it took us about 35 minutes to get bak up the hill.......Archie and I want to hibernate for the next two months...we have had WAY too much ice and snow...................As for PL2??? She is quietly off somewhere reading the new clicker book she got.....YEAH MORE FOOD!! WHAT DIET!!!!!

Nothing in Life is Free

Well we have been MIA for awhile and now we will tell you why.......Remember how my brother had that scare with the snowplow??? Well the turkey and roast beef helped but he started to get really nervous over alot of things and started to act funny to certain noises( a spoon on a glass, a certain door opening, the washing machine etc) I tried to help by telling him to snap out of it but that didn't do the trick,and PL1+2 and I were starting to get a little worried. Now we are very very lucky that we live in a place where we have access to a lot of wonderful things... this being one of them.....

Now you know in Massachewsitts we have a lot alot of colleges and schools and the Tufts Veterinary School is one of them and along with the school comes a wonderful Animal Hospital that happens to have a Behavioural Clinic run by this man... Dr Dodman. PL1+2 spoke to our Vet and he recommended this Clinic for Arch so PL2 made an appointment and off we went.Now I told my brother that this is a very very important place and that we had better dress up for his appointment .......He wanted to wear this......

But I told him I thought we should tone it down a little and we opted for this......

SO off the 4 of us went to Grafton Massachewsitts to go and visit the clinic where we met a wonderful woman named Dr Moon-Fanelli. Archie on the ride over told me that he is just worried about everything, the economy, people losing their houses and jobs, dogs that are in shelters, dogs that don't have wonderful lives like all of dogs in DWB,dogs and people that are sick,and it was worrying about all of this that was bothering him. I told him that Dr Moon-Fanelli was going to help him . He was little afraid that he was going to have to lie on a couch and put his legs up but I told him that was only for people who go to behaviourists. SO we walked in and the first thing Dr Moon-Fanelli said was" Well it certainly is clear who is the leader of this pack...Agatha" HELLO.......Did PL1+2 need to pay for this information?? This is pretty clear to me............

But I went along with it because I want Arch to fell better. So this is what she said...Nothing in life is free....We have to work for everything( INCLUDING PATS AND HUGS) at this point I was starting to wonder a little about this lady and made a note to self to check up her credentials on google when we got home)She also said that I had to be treated like alpha all the time( NOW WE ARE TALKING I LOVE HER), and that we were to do clicker training and some conditioning training and for a while Arch will be on some medicine to help him not worry so much about the world. We already were doing alot of the things that she was recommending( nutrition and exercise)Dr Moon-Fanelli said it looked like the weight of the world was on his shoulders( at this point Archie did get on the couch and started telling her everything he was worried about) She also switched us to these leads(which he may not be able to wear because of his bad back but we will have to look into that)

She said not to worry that this will all work out for my brother and we hopped back onto the car.Archie said he already felt ALOT better.Now I am going to share something with all of you my best friends but you mustn't let this get out.......or my reputation will be ruined....... I have sort of been letting Archie do something to help him feel a little better.........Look closely at the next picture of my bomb shelter bed......

No that isn't me, it's Archie......He says it is making him feel better to be there so I have been letting him stay there....PLEASE don't let this get out..........

I have been staying in the bed next to PL2's computer(where he usually is) ....... All I want is for him to feel better....

It probably won't be permanent.......

We have recieived some lovely awards..this one is from our new (local) pal Norwood..it is a wonderfull sentiment and we want to give it to everyone because we love you all.....

It is snowing again...and with snow comes....THE DREADED SNOW PLOW!!!!!However this morning PL2 went with ROAST BEEF!!!! JACKPOT SUPREME!!! And a plow came, and Arch put his ears a little back and then looked at Pl2 FOR HIS ROAST BEEF!! WOO HOO! Now I am not crazy..do you think I am going to miss out on a little roast beef??So I put my ears back too..and got some..THIS RULES!!!!!!! We hope it snows for a long long time......we are a little stir crazy( hard to believe I know) We think we are making PL1+2 stir crazy as well(we know, hard to believe that too)So we would like to tell you about our visit to the Nutritionist.........so we don't have to think about the cold......

After her last dog( the infamous Reggie the welsh terrier) who had lots of health troubles) and then with all the dog food troubles PL1+2 decided that they were going to feed their next pups( that would be us) real food!! WOO HOO!! We won out!!!! WE LOVE TO EAT!!!!!!! All of a sudden PL2 had an epiphany.....Was she giving us the right nutrients??Were we missing out of something? So she decided we should go to a nutritionist.......

So the first thing she did was put us on the scale...Now not for anything but we are 3 1/2 years old...SHOULDN'T"T SHE THOUGHT OF THIS A LITTLE SOONER????????ARE WE ALL GOOFED UP BECAUSE OF THIS??IS THIS WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH MY BROTHER??? So Archie hopped right on like the little goodie two shoes that he is......21 pounds she said....Gulp then it was my turn..I put up a valiant fight...kicked sat down...but the stupid nutritionist won out.........

23 pounds....I WAS MORTIFIED..and she said it OUT LOUD...oh geesh......Hmmmmmm she also said.........

SO then the 4 of us went into her office and she reviewed what PL2 makes for us(for the last 3 1/2 years) PL2 AFTER 3 1/2 years wanted to see a nutritionist to make sure she was doing it alright..EXCUSE ME.....maybe she should have gone like say after 1/2 year.......MAYBE THIS IS WHY WE HAVE ISSUES!!!!!!

Archie was going to tell her what we really like to eat..............

And I threw in that we love.........TO LIGHTEN HER UP A LITTLE........

So after she read it,PL2 said well??and the Nutritionist said "Well it could be worse... OH THAT IS JUST GREAT..............So she calculated all kinds of stuff and reviewed all kinds of things( including Archies itchys ) and looked at the supplements we were on and came up with a plan.. and on the top of the plan it says ALLERGY AND DIET PLAN...and the diet means as in weight watchers and it is for me...MORTIFIED MORTIFIED......It really isn't too different from PL2 was making but the supplements are different..and she put us on a allergy diet because we are allergic to chicken and meat...CHICKEN AND MEAT!!!!! WHAT ELSE IS THERE!!!!!!! SO they got the official diet in the mail a day or two later...We are having a few small issues with it.....

Now PL1+2 have been thinking really really hard,and they just can not remember when they last saw an ostrich locally........... but I digress...we can also have..........

Now PL2 has been thinking very very hard and just can't remember when she last saw any of this stuff in the supermarket,so she emailed the nutritionist to ask her where she might find this.. and PL1 said that he doesn't know if he is going to be able to give us this in the wee morning on an empty stomach( remember all you country folk WE ARE CITY PEOPLE) so PL2 went to our favorite store the PET CABARET and the girls had cans of pheasnt, and some of the other stuff....and then PL2 found some bison meat in the supermarket and she thought it looked like hamberg..until she cooked it.... Archie kept asking her why she had her turtleneck up over her nose..... so she is going to slowly introduce all this stuff to us.... Archie's itchys are much better.... and Pl2 said she knows roast beef is not currently oh the list but it was all she had, and why can't she have dogs that eat chicken, beef and lamb like other dogs,and we said that we don't care what we eat because we love everything and that is the story of our nutritionist.......As for the 23 pounds?Well Archie says I am big boned,and the Nutritionist said that 21 pounds is a good weight for both of us....( Mr Goody 2 shoes) When the nice weather comes I will be in training again so the pounds will shed right off( at least that is what PL2 says about herself all the time...)

As for now I am EXHAUSTED after chewing on my toy.......

And we are going to take a small snooze.......
