STEP UP STEP UP LAST SUMMER BOSTON TOUR!!

Hi everyone!! We are sooo late because PL2 is having trouble with this new blogger sytem(what else is new) So we are taking you on our last summer tour  to a place we haven't
yet taken you...South Boston, to a fabulous place called Castle Island. As you can see it is south of Boston  ( hee hee that is why it is South Boston)

We are going to go on the Harbor Walk...this is on Castle Island and it is 22 acres and right on the the ocean so there is LOTS to see....

This is Fort Independence.. The first fort was built here in the 1600s and there have been several since then.... The forts were used to protect the city in many situations.

We were really exited to be here......

As we were walking to the entrance of the Fort I started to tell Archie what PL1 had been telling me about all of the ghost stories and stuff that are told about the Fort.

He of course IMMEDIATELY fainted..... and said that he remembered he had an appointment and had to go home...

Ha hahahah it is sooo easy......

Here is the entrance to the Fort

And this is the inside of the entrance. You can eat at the picnic tables knowing you are protected by those big canons on the wall!

So we were all ready to go in and then we saw the sign for no dogs... Archie said OH WELL GOTTA GO THEN...TOO BAD..... and flew out...

Of course no trip is complete with PL1+2 without food.............

I don't know how many times I have to tell him that the BEST spot for action is right underneath them....
But he always insists to go the right and act all cute and stuff..
I ALWAYS get more stuff this way........

Look how pretty......

OF COURSE we had to go in for a dip....it was a little rocky but who cares...

These are the harbor islands.. You can get over to them by boat.

You can barely see but there is a jetty that goes out where you can walk and you are RIGHT in the middle of the ocean!!

These kids were waiting for their lunch

Here is the jetty that we walked on..

Archie looked out and saw this.....

Boston where we live and got a little nervous that it was so far away( not..)

I of course brought us all ice cold water as it was hot and we all sat and watched the ocean and had a little drink......

I was talking at great lengths to this kid about what a great place this is to live and how we sort of have it made ..... We made a panoramic movie of the harbor islands for you to enjoy in case you don't have ocean where you live.........This won't be our last tour, just our last summer tour (boohoo) But we will have many more to come!!)

That sure is a great place to live. And to go on tours. And to take pals on tours. So many miles to walk and so many amazing things to see and so much good food to eat and so many interesting stories behind it all and so many cool creatures to talk to. We always look forward to your tours ... and now they're even more special, having taken some side by side and having snacked right along with you.

So. Do lobsters like those two that we came home with (and which stay much too close to the boiling water on the kitchen countertops, sometimes) live in that big water? Just wondering. It might make Fergi think twice about launching into that water. Rocky or not.

Oh! One more thing! Moma found the recipe for that totally amazing quinoa and cranberry salad. Soon as she (we) eat up the other salads in the fridge, she's whipping that one up for us. Special. With fond memories.

Thank you Agatha and Archie for the wonderfully informative tour of south Boston.

We did chuckle at poor Archie out cold on the floor after the talk of ghosts. Too funny!

Our summer seems to have disappeared as it is all windy and rainy now.

I am totally counting on Archie. The knowledge that he will be accompanying the surgery has made it bearable And I can't wait to see what outfit he deems appropriate . Asta is being squeemish despite her nursing. Says. She'll take care of cocktails after. Sheesh

Hi Agatha and Archie
Yes indeed I think you do have it made. What a splendid walk. Tell you what, how about I come over and you can take me places and teach me poker and then you can come to visit me and we can have a game over here - with yours truly in charge of the whisky procurement? (Yes of course I'm old enough).

As always, thanks for a great tour! Archie, you're hilarious as always! And we agree with Gus-we'll look forward to a real-life tour someday. Parental Unit has been to the great state of Mass, but not Boston-so it'll be "Boston or Bust" for us!

Your buddy,
Bocci

Ahh, Mom remembers going there when she lived in Boston in the Dark Ages (pre-Petey)! She lived in the North End and always wondered why there wasn't a North Boston, since there was a South End AND a South Boston. She and her Pilgrim friends used to go picnic on the harbor islands. Next time, be sure to tell Archie about the pirate ghosts!!!!

I am so relieved this is the last summer tour, because I can barely take it. I want to go to Boston and hang with you guys sooooo bad. Especially you Ags. Although it is fun to make fun of Archie when he faints and stuff.

Boy you guys get around...now about that furicaine comin' up the coastie..you two need to just crawl in your beds...make sure you have umbrellas ready cuz we are soooo gonna get rain.

Was the water cold? Does your ocean ever get hot? If it's not hot this year after all the ninety degree days, probably not.

Scuffy just crawled under the puter desk and smells like armpit odor...it's so um pleasant living with him...
