Archie the Flower Child

Soooo we went to the Arboretum on a really hot day so we could go swimming.... Archie asked PL1 to hold him up so he could read the sign..We went in the side entrance and he wanted to see if the sign would be different....( I know I know what can I say...)

All the rhodedendrums were in full bloom and there were lots of lovely orange color bushes........

This is what started the whole thing....I was walking behind my brother and I noticed this......ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? HE HAS A FLOWER HANGING OFF OF HIS BUTT COMING FORM THIS BUSH...........

And it is not too hard to figure out how it got there....but that is not the only thing..... THAT FLOWER WAS THERE FOR AGES...EVERYWHERE WE WENT... I WAS MORTIFIED AND HE WOULD NOT TAKE IT OFF......

We went swimming.....( I was very busy trying to get at something under that rock... and then I was practicing Esther William moves..)

EVEN SWIMMING THE STUPID THING STAYED THERE......

We walked and walked and saw lots of the rhodedendrums......

And pretty butterflies.....

AND IT IS STILL THERE.. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? WHY WON'T HE TAKE IT OFF? I AM MORTIFIED.....

More walking..more rhodedendrums... and then FINALLY......

It fell off.....

DO YOU THINK THIS IS EASY LIVING WITH HIM?????

He said he was trying to be a flower child......WITH IT COMING OUT OF HIS BUTT?????????????

Ohhh I must show you.. Our Arboretum has a new thing,,If you have your cell phone with you( and really don't you always have it? What if I had to call Asta or Lacie?) You can look for a sign like this.. and call( why PL2 picked the sign with the squirrel is beyond me)

And you can learn all kinds of neat things about the tree.....

Our Arboretum... why we love it......

Oh yeah Archie said that he is not surprised that the first hurricane of the season is called......

hmmmmmpppphhhhh

Well, Peace Love and San Francisco to you Arch, my hoomans are old enough that they still remember flower children, and they think you would make an excellent one.

We love your arboretum, and we are busily researching whether we can come to visit on Amtrak. (from Richmond, that is.)

Gail is looking at your blog and saying "ah, how nice, a male dog in touch with his feminine side, we could do with more of that from you Bertie".
I will be honest with you and say that I don not have the faintest clue what she's going on about....

hehe, what a silly pup. I can only imagine how embarrassed you were.
At least if fell off and you didn't have to touch his butt to get it out, look on the bright side, right?

Agatha,

You have my sympathies. Having brothers is just so difficult. You never know when they are going to do something goofy and embarrass you in front of everyone. Ambrose is such a trial to me and I can see that Archie is to you. I think we should form a sister support group!

Glad you had a great walk in the arboretum though.

Your friend,
Niamh

Well, Agatha... you gotta give the flower butt, er, Archie credit for being man enough to wander the arboretum with flowers on his bum... and look on the bright side... any time you had to walk behind him, the air was probably much fresher than it otherwise would have been!

Have a great weekend!

Oh we laughed and laughed when we heard the name of the latest hurricane.
D said next time she visits the States she is going to the arboretum with you guys. She hopes Archie will find a lovely flower to wear on his butt.

This is the funniest thing I've read in ages-Parental Unit and I are "howlin'" with laughter!

I can see why you were mortified, Agatha. I don't buy the "flower child" ruse :-) But Archie got you back with the hurricane!

We love you two!

oh Archie! you are such a flower child! we love your free spirit and your beautiful flower butt! it's okay to wear your flower on your butt. Agatha, maybe you just need to lighten up a little bit.

that's pretty funny that a hurricane got named after you. it could be kind of appropriate, but we'll have to ask Archie to be sure.

woofs.

Ahahaha! Arch was a flower child. Too funny. We think Jake's comment about wearing a flower on your butt was funny too. Just a bunch of comics here.

Those Rhodies are beautiful. We have some with pretty flowers, but the leaves are all ugly...mom says they don't belong in this climate.
