Not to be believed..........

Well it had to happen..and THANKFULLY it happened with us and PL1 not PL2 because she would have FAINTED(see who Archie takes after????) Now remember awhile back we were telling you about our Arboretum having coyotes?????And they put this sign up at the beginning of the Arboretum( which WAS NOT THERE when we brought our famous visitors Lenny and Sophie ....)

Ladies and gentlemen and all hammies, I am now going to reenact the day that my brother and I and PL1 had today....... because.OF COURSE PL1 did not have his camera!! It was a lovely summer day and PL1 said "let's go you guys and play and swim at the Arboretum( the THIRD time this week!!!) WOOHOO!! and off we went. Now it was hot here so I went to the little stream( not the one we went to Sophie another one).....and really had a nice swim...............( remember this is a reenactment...)

Here I am in the little stream.....(use a little imagination here...)swimming away....

WAIT...DID I HEAR SOMETHING????????

MAYBE OVER THERE??? Oh it was nothing.......let's continue our walk.......

We walked down one of our favorite paths...( we took Ms Sophina RIGHT DOWN HERE.........)

And there SMACK IN FRONT OF ALL THREE OF US WAS THIS..............................( this is not him but a picture of what we saw) A COYOTE........ok brace yourself.....WITH FRESH KILL IN HIS MOUTH( this is the part where PL2 would have fainted and been OOT(out of there, history see ya later by, in awhile crocodile....) But the coyote walked away about 20 feet dropped his kill which was a racoon, and looked at the three of us( PL2 would have been home already...) ( archie thought it was our racoon stuffie....)

PL1 walked away and went to go tell some people who work in the gardens there.....AND WE WENT BACK TO SHOW THEM WHERE HE WAS(PL2 would be in New York by now visiting Petey and Asta)AND HE WAS MUNCHING AWAY.....( PL2 would have not held on to her lunch if ya get my drift......) Archie was sooo nervous he kept asking the coyote if he wanted him to show him the best roaching spot where he has been taking all his DWB friends....OMG he is not to be believed...........ROACH WITH A COYOTE WITH FRESH KILL IN HIS MOUTH???????
Uh Arch....and PL1 I said I think we should slowly get out of here while this kid has his lunch......Now PL1 thought although scary it was really cool and immediately called PL2 who happened to be at work, where it was a wee bit hard to talk while she was at the patients bedside..........BUT SHE FREAKED OUT!!!!!!! And she told everyone at work that she was NEVER going there again ,ever ever ever and this was Boston for crying out loud and then she felt really badly for the coyote but not badly enough to ever go there again...AND this kid was not scrawny,so he has been eating well if you know what I mean.....

Archie has been slightly stuttering ever since then and he fell into a deep sleep and when he woke up said he was having a bad dream.........

I was thinking about it too and think although it was cool, and I am a Great Safari Hunter and everything............

...it did make me toss and turn in my bomb shelter..........

As for PL2?????the Arboretum is history for her( which is a shame because she really does love it......) Maybe if we go in a coat of armor.....)

OH MY!!! Archie...my Sweet??? Are ya OK?????? ARCHIE!!!!!!!! A COYOTE????? A WILY COYOTE? IN BOSTON???????????????

OMD! Thank heavens PL2 was working....it woulda been ugleeeeee!

Babystan offered to run up to Boston to accompany PL2 and you two to the park...no sweat. He said that Dales are Bear Hunters and that he could take on Wily with no problem.

Mumsie suggests that PL2 take a penny shake can to the park with her...if she sees the coyote to give it a toss...guaranteed to scare it away!! Or a bazooka...that might be more effective.

I have to go and lie down...I feel faint. Oh Archie....

Yipes! And I thought it was exciting when we saw an alligator across the lagoon from Grandma's house! But a real life coyote. Mommy's with P1, she thinks it's pretty cool, but she's also afraid that they'll try to kill it, rather than humanely capture it and release it in a more remote area.

That cartoon with Wiley Coyote and Archie made Mommy snort water up her nose!

Your pal,

Petey

Hi, Agatha and Archie!
That was a real adventure!
Do you know if there are more than one coyote there? Maybe they can re-home him and you and PL2 can go again to enjoy that place you love so much!

How dare this coyote show up in your favorite spot and think he can take it over and rule it! You HAVE to do something! He needs to leave peacefully!

Love ya lots,

That's an exciting story about the coyote you saw! We wouldn't know a difference whether that is a coyote or just another dog so we would go towards it to check it out. I think we would be DEAD MEAT if we did!!!

Can I suggest you to come and live here in Switzerland because we don't have coyote here. Only some lynx....

A&A&PLs, I wish we would have seen that coyote when I was there. I grew up with coyotes out west. They can be brazen, but I'm pretty sure I can take one on. I challenge any coyote to a dance off! I'll wipe the floor with that coyote's butt.

p.s. A&A, you best not get too close to that dude.

We have coyotes here too. Around here, they usually go the other way when they see a peoples and even if they don't you can walk away from them.

Tell PL2 that because your Arber-Eat-Em attracts MANY people (some of which are likely morons) that there is a danger than some fool will try to feed / tame them and that's when they would become dangerous.

Slobbers,
Mango

P.S. The reenactment was quite convincing.

Wait. So... You're telling me that not all dogs like to play? What about fetch? Play bow and bark? C'mon now. Aren't coyotes dogs? So they're fun, right? Hey man, I'm a fan of feasting like everyone else around here, and I've never met a dog I didn't like. So maybe the fun coyote would share his meaty feast with me then we can play?

Agatha 'n Archie...

It's terrible when dangerous wildlife take over your special place....a woman here was confronted by a coyote while walking her dog too and was scared to death cause the thing cornered her....I think she called someone on her cell phone for help...be very careful if ya go back cause they aren't supposed ta bother ya...notice I said "aren't supposed ta bother ya" but they might.....'n the park people don't remove 'em cause they are good fer gettin' rid of things like raccoons (who carry disease)'n stuff....what's gonna happen ta the doggies who enjoy the park too????

You have coyote's too???? How cool!!!
It is very strange to see them during the day, cuz they hunt at night, so definitely be wary of that one. We have tons of them in the fields and when they have babies, you can hear screaming...sounds like human babies crying. Its really freaky.
What a great re-enactment!!!!

OMD... that must have sent chills down ur spines! Yet it must have been so cool to see it so close...
We hope the coyote's ok and that he doesn't harm anyone. Too bad it's kinda hard fur wildlife to be so close to man...
Have a great day!

How scary!! Right up there with alligators and Burmese pythons (thank dog, we've never had a close encounter with any of the above).

We don't think you should give up your favorite spot -- but perhaps you could carry something to protect yourselves -- loud bell? taser? -- we don't know. But sumpin'!!!

Perhaps he was just looking for his 15 minutes of fame -- well he got it.

Mom says she couldn't bear to see the coyote gnawing on the raccoon -- that would have been tummy turning on top of the fright!

You two do lead interesting lives. Who knew? Right in Boston!!

Wirey woofs pals,

Jake and Just Harry

Hey friends! My passport is ready, so let me know if you need help. Because here back home we have bears and wolves near our home. So I have to take care my hu-mum whenever we are in the woods near home. Don't be afraid!!!

YIKES! That was some adventure (and scary). Mama would have "tossed her cookies" if she saw that coyote.

We are glad you got out fine. Mama's stomach is churning right now...

oh NO, what an amazing story. now you have to convince PL2 that the arboretum is safe. maybe if she takes a baseball bat, armour, and a stun gun. you guys have to go there again. that's your favorite place in all the world! okay then, if you can't go to the arboretum, then you must come to our back yard. then we will take you to the dog park - no leashes needed - lots of fields for roaching and water for swimming.

we hope that Archie has recovered. too bad PL1 didn't have the camera.

woofs!

You two are amazingly brave to hang out with coyotes. We have them here in NC but I have never seen one.

Maybe we should get a pack of blogging dogs to come up to Boston and take back your Arboretum from the coyote. Then your PL2 will be able to enjoy going there again.

OMD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That crazy dog that was there the day I visited (he was running around without his leash) might get EATEN if he's not careful!!!!!

You guys be careful. I'm impressed by your bravery!

we have coyote warning here in Vancouver too. weird since we're a city of over 2 million people and dogs. Most of them live in Stanley park but they roam quite a bit when searching for food.
